Originating in Italy in the 1500's and introduced into the rest of Europe in the Nineteenth Century, Baccarat was regarded as the Game of Kings. More recently you may recall in the first James Bond novel 'Casino Royale', Agent 007 first meets his arch-rival, Le Chiffre across the Baccarat table. Baccarat is also known as Punto Banco.
There are two styles of Baccarat played at Crown; they are Traditional Baccarat and Crown Baccarat.
Traditional Baccarat and Crown Baccarat are distinguished by the different odds paid for winning Banker wagers and the way in which the table layout is marked. Throughout the Casino you may also see different sized Baccarat tables. Both styles of Baccarat may be played on different sized tables varying from five to nine to fourteen seats.
Regardless of the table size in use, the game rules will always be consistent with the style of Baccarat being played.
About the Game
1. The Dealer deals two hands, one to the Player and one to the Banker.
2. Two cards are dealt to each hand.
3. Tens, Picture Cards and multiples of 10 count as zero. When the card total is 10 or greater you use only the second digit. Examples are 7+3=0, 8+7=5, King+10=0.
4. A 'Natural' is when the first two cards dealt to either the Player or Banker equal 8 or 9. Examples are 7+2=9, 6+2=8, 9+9 = 8.
5. When a 'Natural' is drawn to either
hand, no further cards are dealt. If a 'Natural' is not drawn, additional
cards are dealt according to the Table of Play below.

- You may place a wager on:
- Player; Banker; Tie; and Insurance/No 6 when you are playing Crown Baccarat
- Decide to wager on the Player, Banker and/or the Tie. The aim of the game is to place a wager on the hand which totals nine or the closest to nine. If you think that both hands will have the same total, choose Tie. You may place a Tie wager without having placed a Player or Banker wager or you may place a Tie wager in addition to your Player or Banker wager.
- Place your wager in the area marked Player, Banker and/or Tie closest to your seated position on the Baccarat table.
- Once all wagers are placed, the Dealer
will deal the initial two cards alternatively to the Player and Banker.

- In Crown Baccarat the Dealer will offer the option of placing an additional Insurance/No 6 wager when, after the initial two cards are dealt to each hand, the total of the Banker's hand is 6 and the Player is required to draw a card according to the Table of Play.
- To place an Insurance No/6 wager you must already have a wager on the Player or the Banker.
- An Insurance No/6 wager will lose when the Banker wins with a total of 6 and win on all other outcomes
